Someone said something about a "full shatter combo in a mage vs mage duel". If both mages know what they are doing noone will do that rofl. Risk getting full frost tree shutdown with no IB and maybe no trinket. Then you will get 1) fully silenced 2)fully shattered with a full combo.

Jesus, WoW fails so hard as an e-sport. What a joke compared to Starcraft. RMP vs RMP final, boring as hell gameplay, enormous luck factor on resists/crits, and just a generally horribly balanced, boring game to watch.

I play wow a LOT and am fairly competitive in pvp (2k+ on my mains, nothing great but good enough) and I will tell you that WoW is 90% gear, 5% luck, 5% skill. Starcraft on the otherhand is 98% skill, 1% build order and 1% luck.
This is why WoW should NOT be an e-sport. Wow is NOT balanced, characters also have to be balanced for pve so there is no way they can be completely balanced for pvp. I love my WoW, but it should NOT be an e-sport like SC is.

Minaegi vs. Hiren would've played out in Hiren's favor if engineering was not allowed in the tournament. Nigh Invulnerability Belt favors the mage, and given Minaegi's huge dps due to spell damage stacking, will win the dps race if they fought toe to toe until the very end.

I know enough to be able to say Minaegi shouldn't have given up on the pressur and he had him.

I'm not saying they are bad mages, they're in the finals, but that mage/mage duel was terribly played.

Mage/Mage is easy to win if you keep pressure up and get the opener. Minaegi should've won that match after the first sheep, he's a full hp and the other mage is running at half health.

What are you talking about? Those were incredible 1v1's. The reason for so much running between the mages was that neither of them wanted to commit to a full throwdown when they were at a disadvantage shield-wise or cooldown-wise. In a mage vs mage match, having Ice Barrier and Frost Ward both up as often as possible is clutch. You'll even notice that Minaegi was spellstealing the buffs off Clazzi when he was sheeped, trying to get an advantage. That was a great show of skill all around.
Btw, Minaegi is a SICK mage. To take down Hiren so authoritatively is disgusting. Rogue vs mage is a cooldown battle, each having to balance their cc's and escape skills vs. the other's cc's and escapes. Minaegi had the counter to each of Hiren's moves saving trinket, Ice Blocks, and Blinks for the perfect time.
