SDM is more than just the commentator in Valor - he and Nick are literally running the tournament. He lost his cool w/Idra. I don't think it's worth over analysing. People get pissed sometimes, he's already joked about it on Season 3 cast saying he'll be "Super Calm Man" for the next. It's not life altering, or even a big drama that's going to persist except as long as the community keeps it alive needlessly.

ranodm, i totally agree. at this point, SDM's high ground is kinda weak, and he seems like he's throwing a tantrum. poor nick, his voice is getting shot. one thing going for SDM is that he's not doing his job as poorly as the observer.

Look at the pre-Idra casts you could tell a noticeable difference. You can tell how much it was hurtful to him. I'm sure most casters of anything would have a difficult time when they have something like this happening to them. Cut him some slack.

Daniel Lee's "commentary" was f---ing awful this match. Yeah, what idra did is not good, but it is nothing new. Behaving like you did this match does not make you any better than idra, honestly.

Well, SDM stopped caring after the Idra matches..

I like SDM because he has integrity. He's not a wow-awesome-wrestlemania-caster. I find it funny when people put the blame solely on a caster for an uninteresting game... a bit spoiled by previous games pherhaps.

I like SDM but it seems like he doesn't care much about non-koreans matches, if at all.. so yeah... I think you should concider doing this tournament with lil-susie instead, if possible!?

Normaly, SDM + Tasteless = 2 casters, lil-susie + Tasteless = 1 caster and 1 commentator, and to be honnest, Susie is a way better commentator. I'm saying that cuz SDM isn't really casting right now, he's not even trying to pretend that he enjoys the game, he just put up a comment here and there basicaly. So yeah~ I think Susie would be better suited for this event! :D

The VOD is labelled "Game 1" and possibly has some sound issues in places. Though to be honest, the thing that's most disappointing is the lack of commentary and (particularly) enthusiasm from SDM.

If dropships could land, would they really want to land in front of a group of guardians? :)

I realise that it wasn't a perfect analogy, my point should have been clear. The KBL is less competitive than the NBA mostly for financial reasons, and it would be fruitless (and distracting for a viewer) for a commenter to constantly act disappointed about the level of play.

Just go with it like Tasteless does.

yeah man i fully agree with your point and that that 'could' be the reason for it, but personally i feel that SDM was really affected with idras use an expletive - as he says in mumbo jumbo vid.
i think its a bit unprofessional that he couldnt get over it and just be angry after the casts but nvmd. tasteless really picked up his game to fill in (almost harked back to his season 1 casting alone haha)

He's just going to keep being disappointed with these expectations, because of the reality that players in Korea make a living doing this, and therefore are capable of practicing a lot more. That's what I was getting at.

Daniel seems offended that there are countries where gamers cannot devote 8 hours per day to practicing starcraft. He needs to realize that someone like Jaedong probably had more hours of his life devoted to Starcraft practice by the time he was 14 years old than these foreigners have had in their entire life.

These are not professional players. They do not earn a living this way. This does not make their games "not worth watching"

Tasteless is doing a great job keeping this exciting. SDM needs to be replaced, just for this valor tournament
