Norton AntiVirus GOMtv World Invitational 2009 featuring the world’s top Warcraft3 players is coming to you on June 4th!
In Norton AntiVirus GOMtv World Invitational 2009, each Warcraft race will be represented by two players (all players are past world tournament winners) and players will battle it out to claim the crown of the best of the best!
As a Blizzard official tournament featuring only the world’s best players, Norton AntiVirus GOMtv World Invitational 2009 cordially asks for never ending support and interest from you GOMtv family members and Warcraft 3 fans!

[War3] Norton AntiVirus GOMtv World Invitational 2009 Rules and Regulations
1. About tournament summary, compliance rules and conditions.
① GOMtv World invitational is a Blizzard sanctioned tournament organized and sponsored by GOMtv.
② All participants will delegate to GOMtv tournament staffs in regards to tournament operation and regulations. Participants must comply with all decisions made by GOMtv.
③ Garena usage is mandatory.
④ The tournament will take place on every Thursdays, and Saturdays at 10 pm. Official document with the detailed schedule will be sent to you. ( KST 22:00, BST(Beijing) 21:00, CET 14:00, PDT(PST+1) 06:00 )
⑤ Match times are subject to change, depending on the player's schedule. Any schedule changes must be first agreed with the tournament host and organizers. Final decisions will be made by GOMtv and participants must comply. Any participants making schedule changes unilaterally will be disqualified.
2. Prize money
① 1st place winner will be given KRW 6,000,000 and a seed for the subsequent tournament.
② 2nd place winner will be given KRW 3,000,000 and a seed for the subsequent tournament.
③ 3rd place winner will be given KRW 1,000,000 and a seed for the subsequent tournament.
④ 4th place winner will be given a seed in the following tournament.
⑤ Each player is responsible for paying his own prize money taxes.
3. Match methods
① The tournament will be played between 8 players as a full league format within each group and a single tournament format.
② Top 8 will be played as best out of 3 games, and top 4, and any games afterward will be played as best out of 5 games.
4. Race selections
① The race must be selected and submitted to GOMtv tournament staffs before the map selections are made and players must play in accordance with their selections. Select random is not an option.
② A participant can change a race 5 days prior to the actual game day by notifying proper authorities. Without the 5 days prior notification a race cannot be changed.
5. Maps and map selections
① Official ladder maps or maps chosen by the organizers will be used as opposed to arbitrary maps.
② 7 official maps will be used in the tournament: Turtle Rock, Twisted Meadows, Echo Isles, Terenas Stand, Secret Valley, Melting Valley, and Ancient Isle.
③ In the Top 8 full league, the selection of three maps will be decided through the process mentioned below.
a. Head or tail coin toss winner will have the right to pick the maps first.
b. Coin toss winner will be called Player A. and the other player will be called Player B.
c. Player A will exclude 1 map out of 7 maps.
d. Player B will exclude 2 maps out of 6 remaining maps.
e. Player A will exclude one map out of 4 maps remaining.
f. Player A will pick 1 map out of 3 maps to use in the 1st game.
g. Player B will pick 1 map out of 2 maps to use on the 2nd game.
h. 1 remaining map will be used as the final map.
④ In the top 4, the 5 maps out of 7 maps that will be used in the games will be decided by the methods mentioned below.
a. 1st place in the bracket will be called A, 2nd will be called B.
b. Player B will exclude 1 map out of 7 maps.
c. Player A will pick 1 map out of 6 maps.
d. 5 remaining maps will be drawn out to decide the order of number 1~5 maps in the games.
⑤ For the 3rd 4th place players the 5 maps out of 7 maps that will be used in the games will be decided by the methods mentioned below.
a. Players will send the excluded maps via email to the tournament organizers.
b. 5 remaining maps will be drawn out to decide the order of number 1~5 maps in the games.
⑥ In any other cases GOMtv tourney organizers will make decisions on map selections.
6. Basic rules.
① Players must be fair and square throughout the games and bad sportsmanlike conducts that affect an opponent’s performance will result in heavy disciplinary actions taken against the offending player. Bad sportsmanlike conducts are as follows.
a. Using insults or/and offensive behaviors that affect other player’s game performance.
b. Using a hack program of any kind.
c. Intentional use of a known bug that is prohibited.
d. Intentional disconnection from the game.
e. Engaging in unnecessary chatting that hinders game play.
f. Any other disorderly conduct as a player.
② Game's basic settings are as follows
a. Lock Teams : Yes
b. Teams Together : No
c. Full shared unit control : No
d. Random races : No
e. Random hero : No
f. Observers : Full Observers
g. Visibility : Default
7. About Version of Warcraft 3
① The latest patch version will be used on the tournament day.
8. Game proceedings
① Participants must be ready and wait online fully prepared to play on time as instructed. Players on standby will be confirmed by GOMtv organizers through MSN, NATEON, QQ, etc. This is to insure a good host check and a smooth game play. Warning will be given if violated. 1st match up players will need to be on standby at least 30 minutes before the actual game time ( KST 21:30, BST(Beijing) 20:30, PDT(PST+1) 05:30 ), and 2nd match up players will have to be on standby starting after 30 minutes into the start of the 1st match. ( KST 22:30, BST(Beijing) 21:30, PDT(PST+1) 06:30 )
② If a participant’s standby is not confirmed by the GOMtv organizers a warning will be given. If a player is not confirmed by 10 minutes before the actual game time, tourney organizers can disqualify the player.
③ Participants, host, observer and tournament organizers can be the only ones to watch the games.
④ Garena assigned by the tourney organizers is the only program to be used by players and failing to do so can result in disqualification.
9. Chatting
① After the game starts, GG, GL and ordinary greetings will be the only comments allowed. Failing to comply with this chatting rule can result in disqualification.
10. Game pause, discontinuance
① Participants can pause a game for 5 minutes maximum if out of ordinary events occur during a game. A participant must provide a reasonable explanation for the pause to the GOMTV organizers.
② When a pause occurs, by the powers vested in GOMtv tourney organizers, GOMtv can either decide to continue the match or set up a rematch, or in some cases even decide on the winner of the match.
11. Disconnect
① After the game starts and within 5 minutes into the game if there is a Garena error or a disconnection of some kind for the 1st time, there will be a rematch, if disconnection occurs for the second time it will result in a loss.
② Even if the disconnect occurs within 5 minutes, if the tourney organizers feel that the disconnection occurred at an advantageous time for a disadvantaged player, GOMtv will make a decision on either a rematch or other options accordingly.
③ If a disconnection occurs after 5 minutes into the game and the outcome is apparent, under an agreement among both players and tourney organizers a winner can be declared. If the outcome is not apparent there will be one rematch. Any disconnection occurring in the rematch will result in an automatic loss for the disconnected player (even if it is his first disconnection)
④ Disconnection of organizers from the game caused by power outage or natural disasters will always result in a rematch.
12. Rankings
① Players in the full league top 8 bracket will be ranked as follows
a. Ranked by most wins
b. Ranked by set points if the wins are the same
c. If same rankings exist after the procedure a and b, the ranking will be decided by the methods mentioned below.
i. If and so 2 players have the same record, and points. ; principle of the position of the winner wins.
ii. If 3 players have the same record, points ;
1) After estimating the records against each other process of a. and b. will be applied.
2) In a situation of 01. having the same record still, principle of the position of the winner wins.
3) 1) and if 3 players are still ranked the same there will be a single deciding match up game.
② In any other cases GOMTV tourney organizers will decide on the rankings.
13. Replay
① All replay files will be kept by organizers for records and stats purpose.
② All replay files will not be disclosed to the public.
③ If it is made clear that a replay is leaked by a player, disciplinary action can be taken against the player.
14. Disciplinary action
① If a player fails to follow GOMTV organizers directions or rules, GOMTV can give a warning or disqualify the player.
② If a player receives 2 warnings the player can be disqualified.
③ The level or the severity of disciplinary actions will be decided with much discretion by GOMtv staffs.
④ If any situation occurs during the tournament which not mentioned anywhere in the above, players will comply with GOMtv staffs’ decisions.
