2012.11.01 Dear GOMTV.net users, We have to announce sad news today. SKtelecom_Rain has forfeited his match in the GSL Season 5 Code S Ro32 Group D because of a schedule conflict. SKtelecom_Rain will be leaving for Dallas (U.S.) to participate in MLG’s Fall Championship, therefore he has forfeited his GSL Code S Ro32 matches and has informed the tournament administration on October 31st. We have continuously adjusted our schedule for about a year and a half since 2011 MLG Columbus and our tournament administration has changed our schedule to try to accommodate our players’ timetables as much as possible. (Some communities have wondered why some champions have not shown up for the first group of Code S Ro32 and this is the reason why) To try to minimize the shifting of schedules in the future, we have received the schedules from all managers of teams in the GSL/GSTL in advance so that we can avoid further conflicting tournaments. Players let us know of any upcoming tournaments that they are attending so that we can fix our brackets and broadcasts accordingly. This is revealed to our fans and partners. This last Friday, we have received all the players’ schedules including SK Telecom T1 and we have revealed our schedule last Saturday. (Rain's schedule according SK Telecom 1 included the events: OSL Finals, Blizzard World Championship, and the G-Star in Busan) However, on October 29th, SK Telecom T1 asked GOMTV if Rain would be able to participate in MLG Dallas and if it would be possible to change our schedule. We have checked all other players' schedules to see if Rain could have played on another day. Because of various other groups of players that we had to shift around due to their already submitted schedules, we were unable to accommodate Rain in this matter. SK Telecom T1 has ultimately has chosen to send Rain to MLG Dallas and have officially informed us. Therefore, even though we have looked for all possible ways for him to play in both events, our current schedule did not allow us to make it happen. His match will be handled as a walkover for his opponents and the match schedule will be adjusted as follows. This does not mean that he is out of the GSL. He will be given the 4th place of Code S Ro32 Group D and is now placed in the Code A Round 1 bracket. Original Bracket ![]() Changed Bracket We are sorry for the confusion to all the GSL fans that were looking forward to watching great matches tonight between the 4 players and we wish the best of luck for SKtelecom_Rain.

- 2012.11.02 Everyone that wants rain out and banned is clearly a terran or zerg player, getting last place and sent to code A is basically his penalty, cry about it if you dont like jeeze |

No its not... Hyun just needs one win to advance according to the chart. Oo yeah just realized. My bad. Not sure why I completely overlooked that Hyun winning his one match would mean Yoda and Gumiho rematch |

Giving the players who would have faced him BYEs is the exact same as playing round robin. It still comes down to 2 wins advances, 2 losses loses, as all three players face each other No its not... Hyun just needs one win to advance according to the chart. |

When the other Rain (Terran) chose to attend MLG and forfeit his spot he was banned for two seasons. Its ridiculous to accomodate this Rain & Kespa on this matter. He should be kicked out of the GSL altogether. Further his group should be played as a 3 player round-robin. Giving the players who would have faced him BYEs is the exact same as playing round robin. It still comes down to 2 wins advances, 2 losses loses, as all three players face each other |

- 2012.11.01 I'm just upset that we're going to see some amazing PvZ. Be sad for the missed games. The companies don't care what you think. ^_^ |

- 2012.11.01 In responce to Gami, no player - no matter how talented - should be able to walk all over the orgination and thusly should be punished. If Lebron James gave the NBA the middle finger like this, David Stern and the League would tell him to go fuck himself and suspend him from play. |

- 2012.11.01 I think everyone who is saying that rain should be banned from round 1 of the GSL code A is completely insane. First off this is the first time anything like this has happened with rain, Secondly Rain is a Kespa player and if anything more goes wrong with the kespa players they could just completely take them out again. If Kespa decided they wanted to pull everyone they had out of the GSL sure they'd look like dicks to us, but I'm sure it wouldn't be that unreasonable to the korean scene. They have to think about how the korean scene will react to as well as the foreign scene. Believe it or not i'm sure the Kespa players bring in A LOT of viewers, you can tell just from the studio when one of them is playing, its way more packed then it is when normal GSL players are playing. And with the way everyone is saying "penalize rain for going to MLG, put him in code B, suspend him for a month ect. ect." this makes it seem like we sure are some whiney little bitches.
Like the letter said, they tried everything they could do and they couldn't do anything. So rain gets an automatic loss and is now in code a. To me that is completely fair. anyways I'm sure any of you would pick to go to a 3 day tournament and win more than you would if you stayed to play in the month long tournament. I think you made the right decision GSL. Good luck to the guys that are in the group. I'm sure they're happy rain is out. |

RIP in peace GSL LOL you so dumb, RIP is an abbreviation of 'Rest In Peace' which means you don't need to put "in peace" behind it... herp-uh-derp. I hope this wasn't a decision made by SK Telecom T1, if so it was obviously made with money on the mind, not the players best interest. Dropping out of Code S to be better rested at MLG? LOL that is fucking retarded, especially when Rain is one of the favourites to take the entire tournament. Lucky HyuN lol, although I'm sure he has been practising a whole lot of ZvP, which won't come in handy anymore. >.> |

- 2012.11.01 As a long time subsciber and viewer of the GSL, this shady move on behalf of Kespa/SKT1/MLG/ESF is childish and harmful to E-sports. I won't be watching MLG because of this. I refuse to let an organization make a penny off of me while takeing a stab at GOM. I suggest many of you do the same. |

- 2012.11.01 This is such a weird decision by SK Telecom T1. I don't think it's Rain's decision to choose MLG over GSL like this. He will have to play from code A and get back to code S. I feel so bad for him. |

- 2012.11.01 Why isn't the GOM punishing SKT1 for their lack of professionalism in the situation, though fine or suppression from play? This is clearly a powerplay from Kespa/OSL/ESF to syphion viewership from GomTv. I feel as if GOM should assert it's dominance as the premire league in Starcraft II and send a message to the management of these organizations that they are not to be pushed around. |

- 2012.11.01 understanble. ban is too harsh. it happens.
agreed that a 'warning' should be issued however, and subsequent infringement = ban/double demoted |

- 2012.11.01 I like this decision. I think it's the right choice, especally for first time forfeits. I think bans should be handed out for a second offense by that player, or even team (since it's the team that is responsible for the scheduling). I hope it applies for all the non-KeSPA players too. Also, I'd suggest that rather than just being banned, a player should be double-demoted to code B, and then have to work their way back up each time. |

- 2012.11.01 Thats bit of a dodgey move on Rains behalf.
I'm not sure a ban is in order, like others are asking for. But it certainly doesn't endear anyone to SK or Rain. |
