Dear users,

Due to the severe hurricane activity on the east coast of the United States, our usual live broadcast service on GOMTV.net might not be available at the moment.

Should we be unable to provide the live stream service on GOMTV.net, we will temporarily switch to an external streaming platform with a free stream.

We will continue to use external streaming platforms until our own stream server is back up again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Detailed information and stream links will be available on our live page.

*UPDATE: our usual mobile live broadcast service on m.gomtv.net is not available at the moment.

Thank you.

Stereaming on twitch.tv is way better anyway, in my opinion. Twitch has just great quality and is so accessable. I really hope that in the future you do all the broadcasts on twitch :)

That's really strange, I'm also from Aus (WA) and I can hardly ever smoothly watch the gom stream - I just subscribe and watch the VOD's generally.  This is one of the first times I've had a smooth stream of the GSL.

Nice :) , but yeah sadly for me it is the total opposite. Gom's stream has not lagged for me for a good year and a half since they last did their upgrades but twitch and owned have forever lagged and caused issues for people in Aus (ISP specific since it depends on how your traffic is routed). MLG's for example are a huge issue due to this >.<

Who knows maybe they can stream from their own infrastructure as well as owned/twitch in future, who knows what the costs to do so would be though.

Not sure what these people are talking about in regards to image quality, i'm assuming they have just never paid for any of the seasons since the quality is the same to me (in the rare moments of stability).

Today i noticed again Twitch has a way better quality, much more fun watching GSL! Thumbs up for keeping this option!

I myself cannot wait for gom themselves to start hosting the stream again.
Sadly while i'm sure twitch and owned may work better for others depending on where they are located for me in Australia it is sub-par due to their lack of any type of infrastructure in our region. Sometimes I can get away with being lag free depending on how much the back ends for owned and twitch are being taxed but that isn't good enough for a paid service :/
Thankfully I can at least watch the higher quality vods of the games later since trying to watch it live is almost like looking through a picture book but trying to avoid all forms of spoilers until they go up can be a pita.
Least this is only temporary, otherwise i'd have to stop paying for seasons purely because they are unwatchable currently.

I agree with "FreeJack" im really confused when i see all these people saying that twitch is higher quality then the gom player ive watched all the Code S and GSTL this week through twitch and i find the stream to have lag issues, sound issues, i have to watch adds when i have payed for a pass with out adds. They run adds during the openings when im trying to watch people's build orders i dont know how many important small things ive missed beacuse of that and i find i constantly have to refresh the stream beacuse it will just randomly stop working... Im glad the rest of you arent experiencing these issues with twitch beacuse man has it been frustrating i hope this hurricane ends ASAP and the gom players starts working again beacuse i really havent enjoyed watching sc2 the last week through the stream im just at the point im waiting for VODS its so bad.

I don't understand how people are getting better quality with Own3D and Twitch than with the GOM Player. For me the quality is much worse and when a lot of things are happening on the screen it becomes almost unwatchable because of the low bitrate.

I also hope they fix their vod system soon because right now it takes way to long to load a vod for me to have the patience to even be bothered trying to watch them.

If GOMTV can't run their vod servers reliably I hope they will consider hosting their vods on some cloud service like Amazon S3 or Rackspace Cloud instead. That would most definately speed things up and make stuff weather proof for sure. I'm only speculating now but I can also imagine it's way cheaper than running your own servers both space and transfer wise..

The Code S VODs still stream very poorly. Any idea when this will be resolved? Also, I agree with the previous posters: transmission on Twitch is much better than through GOMPlayer.

Can't you just embed the twitch stream on gomtv.net in the future as well?

Dear GOM, just read the comments above... Don't you find it rediculous that people are begging for twitch instead of GOM player format? That's one more signal for you to improve your video quality, which is now lower than quality of any random pro player twitch stream. Time to grow...

Is there an ETA on when the streaming servers will be back up?

I usually get stuck watching GSL on an old laptop of mine, and Flash seems to give the processor some trouble that didn't occur with GOM Player. :(

As many have said, this isn't an inconvenience, Twitch is great and superior in Stream quality, even for me as premium ticket holder.

Great decision, would love to see the Twitch option stay, although I doubt it will happen.

<3 to GOM for perfectly handling the situation to the best oft their abilities

<3 to Twitch for being the best

Thank god !!
i hope the hurricane lasts forever.
Everyone wants you to stream on Twitch, everyone in the chat is so happy.
I hope you don't go back to scaring people away with Gom-Player and 80x80 pixels.
( Promote SC2 and e-sports, Don't scare people away ! )
