2012.10.27 Dear GOMTV.net users,
Life, our Royal Roader from GSL Season 4, has provided us with unforgettable memories and has written GSL history. GSL now returns for a new chapter of e-sports history with GSL Season 5 Code S.
- For Code S Ro32, players are divided into 4 tiers (Scroll down for tier list) * Tier 1: The Top 8 of GSL Season 4 * Tier 2: 2012 GSL Point Ranking 1-8 * Tier 3: 2012 GSL Point Ranking 9-16 * Tier 4: 2012 GSL Point Ranking 17-24
- After this procedure, 8 groups of 4 are formed * First, the previous season’s champion select s a player from Tier 4 for his group * After that, the previous season’s runner-up will select a player from Tier 4 for his group * The remaining players will be randomly distributed among the groups * After this procedure we will have 8 groups of 4 players, each from a different tier
- Match order for each group (All matches Bo3) * Match1: Tier 1 vs Tier 4 * Match2: Tier 2 vs Tier 3 * Match3: M1 Winner vs M2 Winner -> Winner advances to Ro16 * Match4: M1 Loser vs M2 Loser -> Loser drops to Code A * Match5: M3 Loser vs M4 Winner -> Winner advances to Ro16, loser drops to Code A

- Life has select ed 8thTEAM_Baby for his group. - Mvp has select ed CJ_Bbyong for his group.

- 2012.10.30 A little dissapointed with how few strong terrans are in code S not many days to watch but my prediction 1. Already happened. 2.Roro / happy ( Symbol is a tier above everyone in terms of skill but I'm not convinced he understands the game completely because he does well only when he has new builds or army strategies if he brings a new build/style to create chaos he will go far in the gsl if not he will lose first round. I feel symbol is more of a copier of good players) (happys standard boring everything the same every game will probably pull him through to the next round but thats as far as he will go) 3. soulkey / Curious (Chose strongest 2 players hard group to call since Maru and Hero's styles tend to be all ins. I would expect maru to beat hero though. Whoever advances from this group will almost certainly lose next round) 4. Rain / Gumiho (2nd person will be decided by tvt) 5. Mvp / DRG (hard group to call but I'm choosing drg as 2nd because of zvp. If mvp loses first set he's out of code S though. To be honest I kind of expect mvp to lose and creator to advance also but thats just because of the gsl runner up curse.) 6. MKP/ Seed (seed will advance, if MKP brings his tvp A game he will come out first) G. Squirtle / Bogus (never seen bogus play but probably outskills leenock/keen they both use styles that aren't really that good anymore. Keen just executes poorly compared to top teir terrans) H. Life/ Baby (Both have good results and skill their far above the other 2 in their group. Vampire has the potential to upset baby in losers match but baby should pull through then smash ryung) Please let me be wrong though I want an entertaining season of gsl! pvp or pvz finals with rain. I don't expect terrans to accel that much in WoL anymore. Toss with good control and zergs with good production/early 3rds of equal skill have to great an advantage. |
