2012.09.01 Dear GOMTV.net users, The Up&Down matches are currently underway and it’s exciting to see all the players doing their absolute best to make it through and advance to GSL Season 4 Code S. In this post we will give you an overview of the currently qualified players for GSL Season 4 and will once again explain the system that is used to determine the Ro32 groups for Code S. For a more thorough explanation of the GSL format, please read here: http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?topicid=208740&cid=0&kind=8 - For Code S Ro32, players are divided into 4 tiers (Scroll down for tier list) * Tier 1: The Top 8 of GSL Season 3 * Tier 2: 2012 GSL Point Ranking 1-8 * Tier 3: 2012 GSL Point Ranking 9-16 * Tier 4: 2012 GSL Point Ranking 17-24 - After this procedure, 8 groups of 4 are formed * First, the previous season’s champion selects a player from Tier 4 for his group * After that, the previous season’s runner-up will select a player from Tier 4 for his group * The remaining players will be randomly distributed among the groups * After this procedure we will have 8 groups of 4 players, each from a different tier - Match order for each group (All matches Bo3) * Match1: Tier 1 vs Tier 4 * Match2: Tier 2 vs Tier 3 * Match3: M1 Winner vs M2 Winner -> Winner advances to Ro16 * Match4: M1 Loser vs M2 Loser -> Loser drops to Code A * Match5: M3 Loser vs M4 Winner -> Winner advances to Ro16, loser drops to Code A - Updated (09/01): Current list of qualified players for Code S / Tier list * This list will be finalized when the Up&Down matches end on Friday * The 2 KeSPA Code S seeds are: SKT_Rain (P) and 8thTeam_Jaedong (Z) * Race distribution: Terran x13, Protoss x10, Zerg x9 - Updated (09/01): Code S Ro32 Groups * MC selected Jaedong for his group, Seed selected SuHosin for his group * Remaining players were distributed randomly, 1 per tier - Updated (09/01): Current list of qualified players for Code A * This list will be finalized after the Up&Down matches and Code A offline qualifiers are over * The 4 KeSPA Code A seeds are: STX_Trap (P), CJ_EffOrt (Z), SAMSUNG_RorO (Z), Woongjin_sOs (P) - GSL Season 4 Map Pool: - Schedule for GSL Season 4: Thank you. - 2012.09.01 Quote : I'm surprised Jaedong got the code S seed instead of RorO. RorO did much better in the WCS than Jaedong did. Jaedong and Rain are the best players in Proleague, if you do not know Proleague is always first priority for KeSPA players, in the WCS event they play only to get experience even Reality said in an interview that he had played BW before his WCS matches. Also I would like to ask GOM did ThorZaIN, GanZi, ForGG and viOLet forfeit Code A or not? Also finale got Code A seed vie EWM but he is also not on the list.
