The Caster Feedback thread has become nothing more than a sinkhole for real feedback that the GOM team might need. Excellent feedbacks and garbage feedbacks a like are just drowned out in the masses and becomes obsolete on a daily basis. I haven't seen much evidence as to how much GOM is taking it seriously. Currently, the Caster Feedback thread alone outweighs the ENTIRE FORUM by a ratio of almost 10 to 1. Obviously, IMO there's a disconnect between the Forum Mods and the Forum Members that results in this unneccesary build-up of comments that nobody wants to read. If GOM wants to take it's users seriously they will have to do something with this. E.g. take apart the Caster Feedback, pick out a few comments and respond to them, delete comments without content, I don't know, something. Just don't ignore the Forum! Look at the resuts: Frustrated and angry feedbacks. the infamous VOD comment section. It's all a big mess. I've had to blow out some steam and frustrations myself in the VOD comment section, even when I know it's completely meaningless and won't amount to anything at all. As a GOMTV.net user with over 300$ worth of purchase history dating back to December 2010, I want to know: What is the GOM team going to do with it?

- 2012.07.23 It is good to know that the staff are painfully (lol) aware of the VOD comments. I'm no innocent bystander to inflammatory use of words in the comment section. I guess my main concern was of the massive volume of feeback replies hooping up in an uncontrollable clusterfuck, but from what you write it would seem like it works for you. Thank you for such a quick reply. |

- 2012.07.23 The reason for the existence of the caster feedback thread is to have a central place to gather forum feedback, rather than having many cluttered threads. Feedback from the Caster feedback thread as well as feedback gathered from other community websites, e-mails and other sources is compiled and evaluated and also passed on to casters. I can assure you that feedback plays a role in our caster decisions. There are however other factors that come into the equation such as visas, contracts, schedules, industry feedback, viewer statistics, salaries, logistics, caster availability, casters' own opinions and preferences and more. We appreciate the feedback you give and respect every opinion, but are unable to respond to individual feedback. 'Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it' is the best I can give you and that seems redundant and gets old pretty fast. As for moderation, yes we are painfully aware of the fact that the forum and VOD comments are not moderated well. In fact, not well at all. I hereby apologize to our users for this fact and hope that we are soon able to introduce a system that helps us keep the place moderated (has been in planning for a while but always got pushed back because of other matters). |
