Hello, 

I actually went to the event and of course I liked it. I took a friend with me who had never been to a Starcraft 2 event before. With him having a bit more experience with business as he owns real estate, it was good to have him along and hear his opinion.

I had reserved seats for the event and we got there two hours before the event started. This was so that we could get the receivers to listen to the English commentary while we watched the event. I definitely wanted to be there early to do that since it would be my friends first time watching the event trying to figure it out how Starcraft works. We got our ticket number but there wasn't much control of where the Global fans needed to stand. Finally they lined everyone up by numerical order. Also there a survey that they wanted us to fill out that was pretty lengthy. My friend was more worried about getting a place to sit or being able to eat rather than waiting in line. There was so much downtime when they let us in at 4 o'clock to to 5:10 when they started the event. So I think they can let us in earlier due to the heat instead of us waiting outside for so long and we could fill out the survey inside. Also the survey and getting the first hundred people signed up took so long. Hopefully letting the fans in earlier won't mess up their preparations.

When we got in there was more of a wait, but at least there was wireless internet there. The most important thing for me was these recievers for the commentary. So off the bat they were not activated but to be fair I'm sure they have to be battery powered; I didn't see any plugs. I didn't notice anything because we were squeezed together. I was fishing around for the controls after awhile to see if anything was on and working and I turned on the system for me and my friend. The staff did mention that we could use our own headphones, so I fished around for that as well. I didn't want to rub up against someone else's girlfriend which is why I felt more uncomfortable. If it was another guy I'd just elbow him in the gut; it's just reflex :). Anywho, I hooked up my Beats (TM) headphones to the system. I'm not endorsing Beats but just saying it was a birthday splurge. But the only good thing they are for was noise cancellation and the bad part is only one channel of sound :(. Stereo sound would have been so awesome, but the English commentary is definitely a step up and forward which makes me want to go to more events.

It seems that before the event they have the Baneling Pre-Show, which gives their predictions on who is going to win, what is happening around the GSL, but actually getting the players together before their match. None of it was sub-titled to my memory in which I felt bad for my friend who was worn out by the trip as it was (we came from Osan Air Base, two hours away by train). It might be a hard to ask for request, but there are plenty of TV shows from Korea or Japan that eventually get sub-titles, that way we could listen to the original commentary and see their insights; maybe it just takes more time than I think it would. I did like the skit about Bi-bim-bop with Artosis and the Korean caster and them mixing in some dubstep. I definitely liked the "Learn Korean" commerical from the Finals which I hope is on YouTube somewhere. GOMTV should definitely put those on their YouTube site.

The finals were definitely impressive to me. I think the venue was a bit small but I guess you take what you can get. When I looked behind me there were alot of people still standing, and there was alot of chair setup outside the studio where people could watch on TV monitors. The games were pretty good with Squirtle have a hard time getting out of the blocks. Game 5 was definitely the most impressive game of all time. Normally when a Terran gets the advantage and as the race's natural state of being defensive kicks in with Planetaries and Sensor Tower's, how do you lose? When Squirtle warped all his units over to a Island with all his units to take out an expansion, MVP should probably move all his Battlecrusier to his opponent's main base. So either MVP was playing around to much, overconfident, or maybe he was playing super safe. Back to production quality... lol.

Game 5 was the last game we watched as we were also trying to sightsee and check out a jazz festival. As always I love the games and talk about them all the time and tell my co-workers that any other video game is a waste of time. Hopefully this gets looked out by the GOM staff, I don't necessarily want to start another topic if it's already been posted; this is the closest I saw at the time. I hope to go to the next event.

They could improve on showing a little insight into the players, extended captioned interviews, how they got there, previous match history, etc. 

It was really good though, i enjoyed watching the finals, and not just because of the awesome games.
