2012.04.28 I payed the membership to see the matches expecting it in at least 720p, when in fact it's barely 480. 15 dollars is a decent chunk of change and if you aren't even going to upgrade the quality to HD then I want a refund. Come on guys, its 2012. Get with it, you guys are supposed to have the fastest cheapest internet in the world, FIX-IT. Doing nothing about it for almost 2 years since you started is unacceptable.

Looking at the cameras that I see on stream one of the issues that might hurt GSL is that the equipment is probably NOT HD. This is probably an issue across the studio(mixing boards for video, cameras, color balancers, etc...). They most likely have older broadcast quality equipment. The stuff still looks good just not quite up to snuff with HD grade broadcasts. The high quality stream is disappointing with how "low quality" it actually is. I love the production value of the graphics, camera shots, music, etc... But I would be even more impressed if I wasn't paying for a glorified SD stream. Even the free SD streams aren't as good as most. When AoL was simulcasted on Twitch last season the BASIC free stream was better on twitch than it was through the GomPlayer. GOM. I love your product! But it would look better in ACTUAL HD! Lets catch up with the rest of the world as far as stream quality.

The difference being the foreign market has embraced SC2 with open arms while Blizzard's dispute with KeSPA has destroyed the public image of SC2 to their potential audience, who is still watching Brood War and more or less unwilling to move over to WoL. If GomTV doesn't provide the Koreans with the free service, nobody watches it. What doesn't help is that GomTV is the only company in Korea that was willing to pay the licenses to distribute SC2 content IIRC. The recent turn of events with KeSPA, GomTV, Blizzard, and I forget who the fourth company was is good news, as it shows that Korea is going to be joining in full force come HotS.
