His Queen and Spine blocked the 4-6 Banes that was running up while his units were taking the hits... SIGH
Obviously also.... he moved up way too quick. Macrohatch was still at 90% when he moved up. Wait till 30%? Maybe he saw that he wouldn't have had extra larvas but still...

Terrans have been dominating GSL for 5 straight season now.

Hell, Jiakji cheesed several times, even failed with said cheese, got supply blocked etc and still won.

Lennock was the better player but that doesnt matter against terrans.

Are you talking about that game where Leenock made nothing but hatcheries and drones until he had 3 hatches nothing but drones while Jjakji attacked off 1 base?  Never seen a game more deserving of a loss.  He makes Idra look frugal.

Lol complaining about cheese against Leenock of all players.  He cheesed or all-in'd every single game of his ro4.  In his other games, Tastosis constantly point out Leenock's propensity for cheesy all-ins.

I'll bet its really easy to judge someone who is being watched by thousands of people from your comfy office chair or couch isn't it?
Neither you nor I could even comprehend the kind of stress they are under in this situation for this much money in front of their parents and fans.
Christ you make me sick. Leenock did a great job, everyone makes mistakes because we are human.

If you get stressed out performing infront of 1000s of people you should not be a pro-gamer, athelete, or public speaker.

Why does some kid always have to do a thread whineing about someone not winning.. jeez

I love how the OP says the Zerg could've played better and somehow he's whining about Terran imba.  Maybe you guys just need to grow a brain.  Possibly a pair of eyes while you're at it.

I don't know how you all read my OP but it was not a whine, I'm simply trying to tell you all something I observered that you may not have, (well FML because you all knew it so well apparently I was whining).

You do realize what you just said right..? Leenock has been playing an insane number of ZvTs lately in both the MLG and GSL, the fact that he's shown all his builds and plays makes him vulnerable to someone who's hasn't shown his TvZ in 2 months(?) and you can see with all the overlord sniping and builds that he's studied Leenock a ridiculous number of times. The fact the pressure that comes from ZvT and how calmly he performed under those circumstances made Leenock that much more impressive for me. As for the "better player", you really have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of GSLs.

I think he meant better of the day. Not better overall. Also I agree with the land mine comments. Leenock surely depends too much on that. I think every single game that he won a terran in MLG and GSL and his oponent steped on the mine at least once (OK, may be not accurate but that sure is my impression).

Leenock wasn't the better player. For the first I wish someone with reason can look past biasim and fanboyism and realize that Jjakji came into the finals fully prepared to take on Leenock. Leenock played so well. Yes there was mistakes, but guess what? Leenock isn't a super human. He isn't the best player in the world either. Sc2 is still a very young game. Remember that kid.

Man, I'm tired of people thinking Leenock played extremely well or something - He didn't. Leenock only won when his Baneling land mines paid off, Game 6 he countered too many times and let jjakji siege up outside his base. He didn't win game 6 and wasn't going to win a game 7 he was obviously tired.

Terran's get all the chicks, so all the top players play them. Protoss and Zerg are OP but everyone who is anyone plays Terran.

It is very difficult for a terran to match a zerg without either cutting a corner secretly or making a hit on the zerg....  what is considered "standard" macro play for terran will cause them to fall behind to the superior capability of zerg to macro uncontested (they get a million larva duh!).  At the GSL level it is rare in a tvz that you will see a terran win without making some pretty clever moves....  Maybe all the top terran pros consistently coming up with clever moves and executing them well makes a lot of viewers feel as if terran is OP when the reality is that the players PLAYING terran are pretty op.  Selecting terran as a race does not cause brilliant moves.

On the other hand,  if a zerg catches a whiff of what the terran is attempting and puts a halt to it the zerg will undoubtedly take a leap ahead and once a zerg gets momentum rolling it is very difficult to stop.  It feels quite helpless for a terran when his 2 base timing push is discovered and the zerg slows his movements or causes the need to have a backup force to protect from counterattacks thus making the attacking force smaller.  A great example of this was the game on Tal'Darim Altar.  Leenock was fantastic at slowing jjakji's push and threatening a counter. Had jjakji not pulled a clever move with a hidden CC the stopped push along with Leenock's own expansions would have put him in a position to go full zerg mode.

The matchup (especially in a best of setting) is about terran attempting to hide which corners they are cutting or what timing push they will make and for zerg is about discovering what the tricksy terran is scheming!  The variables come in how early or late the terran's plan is discovered and then also the build the zerg has been doing up to the point of discovery,  along with the reactions to these.

I don't think we have anything to complain about for this finals.  These two players put on a FANTASTIC show with a series of 4-3 and I was impressed at countless points from both of these players.  These players understand this matchup so far beyond what I described in this post but hopefully this gives a little bit of insight to other viewers.  Congratulations to jjakji,  and amazing effort from Leenock.

Didn't he lose the only match he cheesed?  2-port banshee fail.  Crossfire he hit a 1-base timing push and Leenock was too greedy.  You're probably the same guy that was so proud of Leenock hitting similar timings against Naniwa.

Also--since when isn't cheese part of "playing"?  If you can't stop cheese at all you can be the best macro player in the world and no one will ever know it.  Get well rounded like Jjakji.

The so called "cheese" I wouldnt even really consider cheese.  He attacked with hellions, marines and seige tanks....that is cheese?  Just because you don't fast expand doesn't mean you call it cheese.

Leenock messed up by under estimating Jakji.  Jakji was well prepared, and even knew where leenock would send his overlords.

Jjakji cheesed once and played brilliant troughout the hole series. Leenock made several mistakes but played good also. Maybe you should take your zerg bias back to the toilet and have a wank of misery.
